The Grow NOW Life Cleanse: The Final Two Steps

There are a few things I say on this blog that you will see over and over again:

1) EVERYONE wants to be something better, something bigger (everyone has vast goals)
2) ANYONE can be great
3) Everyone is a UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL, with unique talents no one else has
4) It is life's DISTRACTIONS that veer us off course

The main point is that everyone has dreams. Everybody wants to have more money, have a nicer home, have a better job, live in a nicer area, own a yacht, travel the world, meet great people, see great things.

ANYONE can be great. Anyone can achieve these goals regardless of age, race, gender, religion, or starting point. Of course others will have larger obstacles to overcome than others, but as you have always heard, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

Every person on this earth is a unique individual. There are no duplicates. There is only one you. You see and hear the world differently than everyone else. You have had different experiences that everyone else. You had a different upbringing than everyone else. You have different strengths and weaknesses. You have different likes and dislikes. This is what make the world turn. Our differences. Of course, it is our differences as people that cause the vast majority of turmoil on this earth. But that is complete irony, because it is also the most beautiful thing about the human race. We are all born unique individuals, with a direct path in our lives we are meant to follow.

That is until life's distractions begin to interfere. In a previous post I posed the question: "Do you remember who you were before people told you who you ought to be?" We live in a world full of distractions. We first encounter many of these distractions when we are between the ages of 10-18, when our brain and mind are most vulnerable and malleable. We are just beginning to figure ourselves out. Our peers are too young and immature to not be overly judgmental. Our self-consciousness is at an all-time peak. We begin to change who we truly are so that we can "fit in" with the people around us.

But we were beautiful and unique to begin with. We are just too young to truly realize that.

These changes that take place during our young teenage lives linger into adulthood.

These distractions change us, not for the better, but for the worse.

They veer us off course, and do not allow us to take advantage of what makes us special and unique.

We must Cleanse Our Lives of these distractions and RECREATE the road to success.

I realized my countless mistakes a few years back. I took note of all the changes I made to get myself back on track, and to become the person I was always meant to be.

It is my pleasure to share these changes with you: The Grow NOW Life Cleanse.

Steps 1-5

Steps 6-8

The Grow NOW Life Cleanse Steps 9 & 10

9) Create a Vision Board

There is nothing in life that you will have to work harder for than the pursuit of your dreams. And nothing will be more fulfilling once the dream has been accomplished.

The famous quote is:
"Suffer now and life the rest of your life as a champion" - Muhammad Ali

Malcolm Gladwell discusses this in his wonderful book Outliers. The magic number is 10,000.

10,000 hours to achieve mastery of a skill. 10,000 hours of PHW. Pure Hard Work.

Science of the mind had proven the advantages of visual aids with learning and motivation. The perfect visual aid for accomplishing a major life goal: a vision board.

What makes a vision board so great? It can be just like YOU.

You can personalize it and make it just as unique as the person that you are. If you are more of a private person, it can be for your eyes only. If not, you can display up on your wall for all to see.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to vision boards by a great true friend of mine, who I have mentioned before, who was kind enough to make one for me.

Having everything right in front of you and seeing everything visually truly changes everything.

She put images of a beach house, which I had briefly mentioned was always a dream of mine. She put images of myself and my girlfriend and fun little baby names I had told her about. She put images of myself as a Speech-Language Pathologist, something I will be doing for the rest of my life, and hopefully changing the lives of children and families.

And finally she put images of myself as a Life Coach. Images of myself speaking to large crowds. Crowds of people enjoying what I am saying, and helping them accomplish their goals and change their lives for the better, forever.

A few days after first viewing this vision board...I began the Grow NOW blog. Was it the vision board that finally motivated me to begin? Maybe. It's difficult to say, as it was realy a multitude of reasons that made me start this blog. But there is no doubt that it helped.

Seeing your dreams visually on a board in front of you is a feeling that is truly indescribable. It simply makes your dreams more real.

It gives you a sense that your dreams and truly attainable and there is no reason why you cannot achieve your wildest dreams.

A vision board will help you focus on your dreams and have better manage your time. Better time management means you are dealing with life's distractions in a positive way.

So go ahead. Creat a vision board. Remember, nobody else has to see it. As long as you look at it each day. That is all that matters.

The benefits truly have to be seen to be believed.

10) Self-Reflect on Sunday's

Remember: 10,000 hours to achieve mastery of a skill.

Mastery of a skill is neccessary to achieve respect, greatness, and the benefits you have dreamed of.

24 hours in a day. 168 in a week. Around 720 in a month.

To achieve the 10,000 hour rule, you would have to work approximately 416 straight days. Well over a year.

This is why Master's, Doctorate, and advanced degree programs take so long. You must work long and hard to attain the neccessary skills to be competent in your field.

Like I said earlier, there will be nothing in your life you will have to work harder for than accomplishing your dreams. And nothing will be more fulfilling.

First, you must cleanse your life of distractions.
Second, with the distractions gone you will be as to surround yourself with the right people and properly manage the time.
Third, with these benefits you will be able to learn your true purpose, skills, and passions. You will learn what truly makes you UNIQUE.
Fourth, you make no more excuses and you work night and day to accomplish your dreams. Because everyone wants to be something better, something bigger.

That fourth step will take a loooooong time. Obviously each person's path to greatness will take different lengths of time, with inevitable mistakes and failures in between. However, there is not doubt that it will take a long time to achieve mastery of your skills.

As you work hard to achieve what you have posted on your vision board, you will no doubt get tired, scared, anxious, and withdrawn.

My reccomendations is to use Sunday, God's day of rest, to take a step back and appreciate what you have accomplished in the previous 6 days.

Review the work you have done. Briefly read over things you have preciously read. Review your vision board. Remind yourself what you are working so hard for.

Keep track of your progress. Every inch counts when you are working toward a lifelong dream. You would be amazed at how many people simply talk about what they want to do, and never take any action. If you are taking ANY action, you are making the right moves. You are doing the right thing.

Even God needed to take a day to rest from all the work he had done. You can do the same. Use this day to spend time with family, true friends, or other loved ones.

Go grab a drink, spend an extra hour at the gym, play a sport, go shopping. Do what makes you happy,

Because you deserve it.

You are taking action.

You are doing what do few do.

Everyone dreams. Few DO.

As you are working your ass off 6 days a week to attain the life you have always dreamed of, you deserve to take one day to appreciate what you have done so far.

Eliminate distractions. Cleanse your life. Find your passion and true calling. Work with strong ambition toward your goals. Grow NOW.
