Keep Calm...and Do Everything

Keep Calm and Carry On?

But do more than that! Life your life!

The ability to be calm is underestimated. It is synonymous with confidence and faith.

Some would say calmness is the end result of confidence and faith.

Confidence + Faith = Calm Living

Why faith? Because God will never give you anything that you cannot handle.

When things look worse then ever, you are being set-up for something great. In the moment, it will seem like you are blind to this. The overwhelming emotions of a negative event are all-consuming, stressful, debilitating, and often tragic.

Some people go through difficult times, and it completely changes their lives. Depending on the degree and severity of the event, some individuals become just like zombies. They cannot eat, they cannot socialize, they certainly cannot work. They completely forget their goals and thoughts of the future. They bask in their thoughts of how difficult things are. They may ask themselves questions like:

How could I be so stupid?

Why did this happen to me?

What am I going to do now?

There is no hope for me.

But I trusted those people.

I don't deserve this.

Hardships prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny. - C.S. Lewis

In my life, I have been unemployed and lost jobs that I loved and worked night and day to attain and maintain. The day I lost these jobs are days I will never forget. In the days, weeks, and months after, I was terrified, disillusioned, and lost. There were times I thought this was the end for me, and I had no hope for my future. I thought I would end up working low-end cheap jobs for the rest of my life. Would I even be able to get another job? I didn't even know.

I was a lost soul. I felt I wasn't worthy of any friendships. I wasn't worthy of the love and support my family continued to give me. I was a loser who couldn't even keep a job.

I had bills to pay, and apartment to keep. I always had lofty goals for the future. How could I ever achieve them now?

It was calmness, confidence, and FAITH that got me through this extremely difficult times.

I worked day and night to perfect my resume, build connections, and research openings. I was persistent with endless ambition. Through online job sites, I applied to over 2,000 jobs. I called places that I had applied to, to check the status of my application. I spent less times with my friends, and worked alone, at my desk with my computer, to make sure that I would get out of this mess.

It was calmness, confidence and FAITH that gave me the power to proceed.
It was relentless ambition and persistence that brought a complete end to the bad times.

I ended up getting new employment within a month. Through this new employment, I was able to learn about, observe, and work closely with Speech-Language Pathologists. I was able to see first-hand how these professionals helped to increase the confidence of the children they worked with. I immediately went to the local college to learn about their program and find out how I can become a Speech Pathologist. I was told I would basically have to get a second bachelors degree to even apply to the graduate program, which is quite competitive.

I told myself I was going to do it.

I did it. This May, I complete my graduate coursework and attained my Master's Degree. Something I could only dream of in the years before.

When I lost my previous jobs, I thought my chances for a bright future were long gone.

Little did I know, I was being set-up for something greater.

Think of the some of the successful adults that you know.

What did they go through in their lives? Was everything all puppies and rainbows?

Pain doesn't show up in our lives for no reason.

----> It is a SIGN that something needs to change.

And I am telling you, that because of what you will go through during this difficult time...that change WILL happen.

The only question is: will that change remain?

We have all heard that consistency is the key to success. If you go to the gym once a month, nothing happens. If you go 5 days a week for a month, you get stronger and the change is noticeable.

You WILL change into a better person because of a difficult, stressful, or tragic experience.

However, it is up to YOU if that change persists, and you continue to change your life for the better.

There is only so much a person can learn through school and education. Here, we learn the basics to build us up to have a career and contribute to society.

However --> we learn the most in life through experiences.

It is our experiences that teach us the most about the person we need to become. What we need to do to live a happy life.

How we properly interact with others. How to help others. Who to surround ourselves with. What beliefs we want to subscribe to.

It is these life experiences that teach us the most about lives. Both the good and the bad, that build us into the grown mature adults we hopefully become.

After rain comes sun. Difficult times breed great individuals.

Every person on this earth goes through periods of depression, self-doubt, and stress.

As long as a calm and faithful perspective is maintained...YOU CANNOT BE STOPPED.

"Cause sometimes you just feel tired,
Feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up.
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
And just pull that shit out of you and get that motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse." - Eminem

When nothing is going right, and everything seems like it can't be done. REFUSE TO GIVE UP.

Refuse to Give Up, and Grow NOW.

Keep Calm and Carry On? No

Keep Calm and Grow NOW.
